VeriSign Enters Latin American Roaming Alliance

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—VeriSign Inc. reported a strategic alliance with WorldCell, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary RSB Limited L.L.C. to offer wireless carriers the ability to extend CDMA and TDMA international roaming coverage to GSM networks using VeriSign’s Interstandard Roaming service.

VeriSign said the service, which was introduced to the members of its Pan-American Roaming Consortium throughout Latin America, includes a protocol conversion gateway, interstandard mediation platform, handset fulfillment and provisioning.
