WorldCell Awarded Wireless Telecommunications Services Contract by the U.S. Federal Government General Services Administration (GSA)
Silver Spring, Maryland (August 3, 2006) - WorldCell, Inc is pleased to announce it has been awarded an information technology (IT) services contract by the United States General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule for Telecommunications Transmission Services (Contract Number: GS35F0519S). The contract duration is for a period of up to 15 years, and allows WorldCell to offer its high quality and cost-effective global voice and data mobile communications services directly to all civilian and military federal government agencies, as well as local and state governments. As a result, government customers can now purchase services directly from WorldCell, thereby simplifying the procurement process of soliciting vendors and obtaining competitive pricing.
"As a proven leading global provider of voice and data communications solutions for the US Government, this long-term IT contract is an efficient way for government customers to obtain WorldCell’s wireless solutions,” said Greg Buckman, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing of WorldCell. "This contract further validates WorldCell’s superior wireless managed services solutions, and makes it easier for government agencies to receive these services at a highly competitive price.”
As Worldcell is the recognized industry leader in providing international cellular and blackberry service to the US Government with GSA, the new contract on the Federal Supply Schedule 70, has replaced the GSA Federal Technology Service (FTS) contract which had previously expired.
The GSA contract award demonstrates WorldCell’s success as the largest US Government provider of wireless products and services, including BlackBerry, outside of the United States. Other contract awards include: DITCO-Europe, in which WorldCell provides local service in 26 countries throughout the Europe, the Middle-East and Africa; the USAF – Europe contract, for service throughout the UK and Iceland; as well as the US Army Netcom BPA, providing international communications service on a global basis; in addition to the over 20 individual Government agency contracts WorldCell holds today.
